    • I have assumed that the 1676 baptism refers to the William Hammond who subsequently married Hannah Tailor because he was also buried in Shudy Camps which implies a connection with the parish as he was living in Horseheath at the time. However, there is another William who marries in Shudy Camps in 1713 and is buried there in 1730/31, who may be the William baptised there in 1676. Both indicate an unlikely age at marriage - this William, if born in 1676, was married at 18. The Shudy Camps William, if born in 1676, would have married aged about 37.
