      1721. Isaac Vaux and Mary Walker, At Westminster, 9th 1/mo 1721.
      Isaac Vaux, of Uxbridge, in the County of Middlesex, Physician, Son of George Vaux, late of Ryegate, in the County of Surry, Physician Deceased, and Lydia his Wife him Surviving, and Mary Walker, Daughter of William Walker, of the Parish called St. Martin in the Fields in the Liberty of Westm: Callico Printer. Having declared their Intentions of taking Each other in Marriage before several Meetings of the people of God called Quakers, in London, according to the Good Order Used among them whose Proceedings therein after due Enquiry, and deliberate Consideration thereof (with Regard unto the Righteous Law of God) were allowed by the said Meetings, they appearing Clear of all others, and having also Consent of Parents and Relations Concerned, NOW, These are to Certifie All whom it may Concern, That for the Accomplishing of their said Marriage, This 9th day of the 1/mo called March, in the year, One Thousand Seven Hundred and Twenty One, They the said Isaac Vaux and Mary Walker, appeared in a Publick Assembly, of the aforesaid People and Others met together for that End, in their Meeting House at Westmr and in a Solemn manner he the said Isaac Vaux, taking the said Mary Walker by the Hand, did Openly declare as followeth, Friends In the fear of the Lord, and in the Presence of this Assembly (whom I desire to be my Witnesses) I take this my friend Mary Walker to be my Wife, Promising through the Lords Assistance, to be unto her a faithful and Loving Husband, till it please God by death to separate Us. And then and there in the said Assembly the said Mary Walker did openly declare as followeth Friends in the fear of the Lord and in the p[re]sence of this Assembly, whom I desire to be my Witnesses, I take this my friend Isaac Vaux, to be my Husband, Promising to be to him a loving and faithful Wife, till it please the Lord by death to Separate Us: And the said Isaac Vaux and Mary Walker as a farther Confirmation thereof, and in Testimony thereunto, did then and there to these Presents set their Hands. We whose Names are hereunto Subscribed, being p[re]sent among Others, at the Solemnizing of the abovesaid Marriage and Subscription, in manner aforesaid, as Witnesses thereunto, have also to these P[re]sents Subscribed our Names, The Day and year above written.
