    • One of the witnesses was John Lidgbird who was a property owner in Cheshire, had been Sheriff of Kent in 1740 and was executor of the will of Lucy's father, Captain John Stringer in 1747. Lucy's uncle, John Weller of Kingsgate House, Rolvenden, acted as bondsman.

      George and Lucy Ball had six children, of whom only four survived infancy.
