      Will of Dence WELLER, clothier. Written 27 May 1619, proved 16 September 1619. My wife Joan shall have the profits of my messuage and lands for the education and bringing up of my son Alexander. After the decease of my wife, my son-in-law Thomas Hovenden and his wife shall have the keeping of my son Alexander, they to use the profits from my messuage and lands for the purpose, during the life of my son, if he does not marry. If he does marry, with the consent of the majority of his uncles Weller and Hovenden, then he shall have the profits from my messuage and lands himself. If my son Alexander should marry without the consent of his uncles, then the property shall remain to my daughter Elizabeth Hovenden, the wife of Thomas Hovenden, after the decease of my son Alexander.       Will of Joan WELLER, widow. Written 10 November 1637, proved 10 January 1637/38. To my grandchild Dence Weller, my great bedstead and my truckle bedstead with their mats and cords, my featherbed and feather bolster with my flockbed now lying upon my said high bedstead, my two best down pillows, and other bedding, including curtains and curtain rods. Also to my grandchild Dence, three joined forms, my three high joined stools, my great chair with turned stabes, and my pair of brand-irons, all these being in the parlor. Also to him, a diaper table cloth, a dozen diaper napkins, a diaper towel, a pair of sheets, etc., one of my silver spoons (and much more furniture). To my grandchild Aleander Weller, a pair of sheets, a pair of pillow coats, a dozen napkins, a diaper table cloth, a silver spoon. My grandchildren Dence Weller and Alexander Weller shall be one another's heirs, if either should die before receiving his legacy....
