      WILL:
      To my son, Stph. SHARPEY, the house I dwell in & lands thereto, & the house Rich. WELLER occupies in Cranbrook parish. But my wife Eliz. shall have the house I dwell in, for life.
      Also to my son Stph., the land & tenement called Haselden in Cranbrook parish.
      To my dau. Cath. WELLER, 40s/yr for life, out of the lands occupied by John PERYN.
      The 50 marks Wm. BRICKENDEN borrowed of me & the 40s/yr for 10 yrs interest on it, to go to the children of Rich WELLAR & Cath. his wife, equally divided, except £10 I bequeath to Laur. WELLAR when 22, then the residue of the money divided among the children of my dau. Cath. WELLAR.
      To my son John SHARPYE, all lands & tenements in the parishes of Goudhurst, Marden & Horsmonden.
      To my cousin Thos. SHARPEY, 20s, one month after my dec.
      To my cousin John SHARPEY, 20s when 22.

      The above £4 to my cousins shall come from the profits of the house & lands now occupied by John PERYN. I will that my son Stph. be good to Hugh GRYFFEN all the days of his life.

      ARMS. - Argent, on a bend azure three spearheads of the first.
      CREST. - An arm couped at the elbow, habited azure, charged with three slashes argent, holding in the hand proper a spear broken in three pieces or, the spear-head in pale headed argent, and the other two pieces in saltire.
      Another crest show the hand holdin [sic] three broken spears or, headed argent.
      A shield: Quarterly of nine: 1, Argent, three catharine wheels sable within a bordure engrailed azure; 2, Or, two chevronels gules, on a canton of the last a lion passant or; 3, Argent, a saltire engrailed gules between four martlets sable; 4, Argent, three bars azure, a chief vairé; 5, Purpure, a lion rampant or, crowned argent; 6, Gules, a fess double cotised argent; 7, As 6, but no tinctures given; 8, Argent, a fess double cotised gules; 9, Gules, a fess between six crosses pattée fitchée argent.

      John Sharpeighe of Sharpeighe in the Countie of Kent gent' Sonne and heire to Robert maried and had issue John.

      Lawrence Sharpeighe of Sharpeighe aforesaide gent' sonne and heire of John maried the Daughter of ..... Robertes of Brenchley in the Countie of Kent gent' and had issue by her Stephen Sharpeighe his eldist Sonne, John seconde Sonne, a Daughter maried to Cowcheman.

      Stephen Sharpeighe of Sharpeieghe [sic] aforesaid gent' sonne and heire of Lawrence maried to his firste wiffe ..... the Daughter of lynche of Crambroke and by her had no issue, After the saide Stephen maried to his seconde wiffe Elizabethe Daughter of ..... Astyne of Tenterden in the saide Countie and by her hathe issue Thomas, Lawrence and Stephen Dyed all three sans issue; Robert Shrpeighe [sic] his eldiste Sonne that lyved, Johan maried to James Borne of Sharsted sonne and heir to ffraunces Borne gent'.

      Robert Sharpeighe of Sharpeighe aforesaide in the saide Countie gent' Sonne and heire to Stephen maried Marye Daughter to Charles Scott of Eggerton in the saide Countie of Kent Esquire and by her had issue Bryan that Dyed yonge.
