  • Notes 
    • The identification of Thomas Hilder as the son of the Thomas Hilder who died leaving a will in 1822 is based on fairly flimsy evidence so far. One supporting fact is that the younger Thomas's marriage was witnessed by James Ades - the name of the elder Thomas's son-in-law. The naming of two of this Thomas's sons as Righton and Peter Willard also suggests a link with the Hilders of Mountfield as a further daughter married a Peter Willard and William Austen Righton was the landholder and an executor of the elder Thomas's will.
