      Robinson, William, brother of Matthew Robinson-Morris [q.v.], 2nd Baron Rokeby, b. ___ ; adm. (aged 14) Jan. 1742/3; St. John's Coll. Camb. (adm. pensr. Feb. 14, 1746/7); matric. 1748; B.A. 1750/1; M.A. 1754; Fellow March 17, 1752-1760; ordained deacon (Bishop of Chester at Cambridge) March 24, 1754, priest June 13, 1756; sometime Curate of Kensington; Rector of Denton, Kent, Nov. 20, 1765-1785, and of Burghfield, Berks, Dec. 19, 1767-1800; succeeded to part of the family estates in Kent, Yorks, and Cambs on the death of his eldest brother Matthew Nov. 30, 1800; was an intimate friend and correspondent of Thomas Gray, the poet; the correspondence of Mrs. Montagu with Robinson's wife forms the chief part of Dr. Doran's Lady of the Last Century; m. in July 1760, Mary, only surviving daughter of Adam Richardson, of Kensington; d.
